In Memoriam
Serge Alahverdian, President IAS, 2020-2023 Passed away June 22, 2024. Serge will be remembered as a great artist, friend of many and a wonderful leader who kept our Independent Art Society alive during the Covid years. When everything closed down, he kept us meeting on Zoom and at Eisenhower Park during the summer months. He will be remembered by all who knew him for his warm and generous nature.
Serge graduated from Fashion Institute of Technology and worked as a fashion illustrator and designer in NYC. He also, In later years, did floral decorations and centerpieces for Garden World.
He was an award-winning landscape painter and sculptor.
